5 AC Maintenance Tips Before Summer Hits

July 23, 2026

Jordan’s summers put real load on an air conditioner. A little maintenance before the season starts goes a long way toward avoiding breakdowns — and keeps running costs down.

1. Clean or replace the filters

A clogged filter forces the unit to work harder to push air through, raising power consumption and reducing cooling. AUX units with micropore filtration still need the filter cleaned periodically — check your unit’s manual for the recommended interval.

2. Check the outdoor unit is clear

Dust, leaves and debris around the outdoor condenser block airflow and reduce efficiency. Keep at least 30–50 cm of clearance around it where possible.

3. Test it before the first heatwave

Run the unit for 15–20 minutes on a mild day. Listen for unusual noises, check that it actually cools, and confirm the remote/Wi-Fi controls respond properly — much easier to fix a small issue in spring than during a 40°C day in July.

4. Don’t ignore the self-clean cycle

If your AUX unit has a self-clean function, running it regularly helps prevent mold and odor build-up in the evaporator, especially after long periods of heavy use.

5. Book a professional check-up

Refrigerant levels, drainage and electrical connections are best checked by a certified technician — not something to DIY. Kingdom Jewel’s service team handles maintenance and warranty support for every AUX unit we sell.

Schedule a maintenance visit before the season starts.
